For most of us, the most powerful force drawing us into overland and adventure travel is the pull to experience the wonder and beauty of  the world around us.  All we must do is pause somewhere new or familiar and discover this amazing beauty.  There are untold riches of history, natural wonder, unique personalities, cultures, and personal horizons to explore- but we must preserve these things for posterity and the enjoyment of others.  It's not trite to live by the motto: "Take only pictures and memories, leave only tracks".
